Public Performances: 2008 featured an invitation only reading of Newsman’s Dream Comes True: Film at 11 by Graydon Royce, playwright and critic at The Star Tribune. The company included (cast) Bob Davis, Steve Hendrickson, Adam Whisner and Amanda Whisner, dramaturg Liz Engelman and director Michael Bigelow Dixon. Rehearsals culminated in a public reading followed by a s'mores post-show discussion at the TLC campfire. Tofte Lake Center kicked off its first public event with a moveable feast/site-specific work by Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater, a national Minneapolis-based dance company. The piece, Rooms of Disquiet, under the direction of Stuart Pimsler, guided the 20 audience members around the 12-acre site of Norm's Fish Camp.
2009 featured a performance concert of the Ancia Saxopohne Quartet playing work composed by TLC composer-in-residence residence Jeff Herriott, and the return of the Stuart Pimsler Dance and theater Company, which shared a sneak preview of Tales From the Book of Longing which subsequently premiered at the Guthrie Theater in October, 2009.
In 2010, the Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater Company returned to offer community workshops in caregiving and ballet, and launched their state-wide touring season with a special performance in Ely’s Washington Auditorium.

Master Classes: Workshops led by professionals in their field will eventually be held for students, community members, and others interested in the subject matter du jour. 2011 continued TLC's annual mosaic-making retreat led by Minneapolis' renowned mosaicist Lisa Arnold, where participants experimented with many methods: pebbles, tile, stained glass, pottery, as well as Healthy Living Creative Retreat for Women, facilitated by artist and chef Anna Dvorak. An added highlight was Life Coach Thea Sheldon's Deep, Rich, and Bold Retreat for Women Entrepreneurs. Check out the featured workshops page for the dates and descriptions of the 2012 classes.
TLC was also privileged to continue its second annual Emerging Artists Program, sponsored by the Jerome Foundation, offering 3 week-long residencies to 21 artists residing in either Minnesota or the 5 boroughs of NYC.
